The DELF and DALF are official certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education certifying level of fluency in French. Useful for school records and college and job applications in French-speaking countries. Scores valid for life.
The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify foreign candidates’ proficiency in French.
There are no entry requirements for any of the exams; candidates can take the examination at the level of their choosing.
The exams are divided into two parts: (1) listening comprehension, written production and reading comprehension, in a written exam, (2) speaking and oral interaction are tested in a one-on-one exam, scheduled separately from the written exam, generally after 4pm or on another day.
This level recognises basic knowledge. It is the most basic level at which a language is used, called the "discovery" stage.
