Join us on Saturday, November 9 from 11am to 5pm for a fantastic Family Saturday as part of My French Book Fest in New Orleans! This exciting family-friendly event invites everyone to immerse themselves in the world of Francophone culture and French language activities. With a French book fair, interactive exhibits, engaging workshops, lively storytelling sessions, and vibrant performances, there’s something for every member of the family to enjoy. Whether you're a part of a French immersion school community or simply looking to explore Louisiana's rich French heritage, this day is packed with fun and educational experiences for all ages. Celebrate French culture in Louisiana and introduce your children to the magic of Francophone literature and the French language at My French Book Fest's Family Saturday!

Julia Bourdet · 10am-1pm

Julia Bourdet, French author and illustrator currently in residence at the Villa Albertine, is crossing the United States by bike and train to meet eco-feminist activists.

Calling all young thinkers! Our Petits Penseurs Philosophy Workshop invites kids to explore big ideas in a fun, interactive setting. Inspire your little philosophers to ask questions and dive deep!

Enjoy the show as students in French language programs present their favorite children's story during the Alliance's theater competition. Classes prizes will be awarded!


Storytelling · 3pm

Kirby Jambon, a veteran French immersion teacher, author and artist from Louisiana, will captivate students with a theatrical performance celebrating Francophone and Acadian identities.



Student musical performance · 4pm

Join us for a special performance by the talented students of Hynes during My French Book Fest! Sing along and enjoy the show!

Julia Bourdet

Julia Bourdet, author and illustrator currently in residence at the Villa Albertine, crosses the United States by bike and train to meet eco-feminist activists. She will lead outdoor drawing workshops in immersion schools to raise children's awareness of the nature around them. They will thus produce a small collective book.

Dany & Daniel Bouffard

Acadian authors Dany and Daniel Bouffard will introduce students to comic book design through creative workshops based on his innovative and interactive comic book series “Capitaine Acadie”.

Anne-Lise Boutin

French author and illustrator Anne-Lise Boutin received the Albertine Jeunesse Prize in 2024 for her illustrations in the album “Les frères Zzli”.
