Créolité and Creole Language in Louisiana

Mark your calendars for October as we welcome Taalib Pierre-August, a young Creole activist and native speaker. At 20 years old, Taalib Pierre-Auguste is a fluent speaker of both Louisiana French and Louisiana Creole, the current vice-president of CREOLE Inc., and author of Koushma: Kondamné-la and Le Langaj a Lèspwa (now available in our library) . He started his journey in language and cultural advocacy in the mist of COVID while at high school which lead him to connections with Télé-Louisiane and other groups. He would become the host of LACréole Show, a télé-web series where he sat down and interviewed different community members in French and Creole.
