-Beginners can start with ‘Pas a Pas’ or A1.1. Pas a Pas is ‘Ultra Beginner’ if you want to start with the very basics.
-Non-beginners, take our simple online placement test if you’d like to join, but unsure of your level. We’ll follow up.
-The Alliance Française of New Orleans, like every Alliance Française in the United States and the World, follows the official program built by the Council of Europe called: The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It was designed to provide a comprehensive basis for language curriculum guidelines, the design of teaching and learning materials, and the assessment of foreign language proficiency, which can be officially confirmed via DELF/DALF exams if desired. The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels:
- A1: Beginner
- A2: Advanced Beginner
- B1: Intermediate
- B2: Advanced 1
- C1: Advanced 2
- C2: Master
NOTE: Classes canceled if minimums not met, so book by registration deadlines!

Regular or ‘Accelerated’ Classes
Regular – Numbered classes that correspond to certain levels of French, from Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C1). Meet once or twice a week, over a period of 10 weeks (Regular) or 5 weeks (Accelerated).
Regular Tuition: $380 + $65 ECHO/COSMOPOLITE books + $40 annual membership *earlybird discount available

“Thematic”/Summer: Pas à Pas, Conversation, Reviews – All Levels
-Meet once a week for 1.5 hours, for 5 weeks. Two Sessions per Season.
-Pas à Pas (Ultra Beginner Level): A very basic class to get your feet wet in French! PAS A PAS
-Conversation Thursdays! ‘Les jeudis Conversation’: 3 Levels: Adv Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Thematic Tuition: $105 + $40 annual membership
Organized on specific topics with a very brief format of a few lively hours on Saturday. Refresh your French with low commitment or enhance current studies. Available throughout the year, for different levels. Examples: Grammar, Fun French! Games-Learning, ‘Bon Voyage’ French for Travel.

Workshop Tuition: $40 and up, + annual membership
