DELF/DALF EXAMS

AFNO is an Official Exam Center

The Alliance Française of New Orleans offers tests and diplomas based on the same levels as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

The diplomas (DELF + DALF) are similar to university degrees in that they confirm language proficiency and are valid for life.  More detail is available at http://www.ciep.fr/en/delf-dalf.  You may also click on the tabs to the left for more information on each exam type.

The exams are administered by certified professionals, under the authorization of the French Ministry of Education.

Exam results are emailed within one or two weeks after taking the exam, and the official Diplôme arrives 2-3 months after the exam is successfully passed.  Diplômes must be picked up in the office and signed for at the AF office (or may be mailed if you live in another state, you may inquire with us).   Diplômes are veritably irreplaceable, so it’s important that you keep it.

EXAMS FOR KIDS & TEENS

DELF Prim (ages 8-11)
is an official diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the proficiency in French as a Foreign Language of children ages 8 to 12.  These classes are administered only in area schools.  Please contact your child’s school for more detail.

DELF Junior (ages 12-18)
is a specially adapted version for juniors/teenagers of the DELF diplomas.  They are not a lesser exam, and are held in the same esteem, they are simply adjusted so that the subject matter is more relevant to this age group.

Exams are given only at the assigned times and days as mandated by the Ministry, and are not negotiable.

The dates and times listed are for the written portion of the exam only.  The oral portion will be scheduled separately after you register, closer to the date of the exams.  Orals are usually given on the same day as the exam, but later in the day, and occasionally need to be scheduled on a day following the exam.
