The Alliance Française of New Orleans, offers adult classes following the official program built by the Council of Europe called: The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It was designed to provide a comprehensive basis for language curriculum guidelines, the design of teaching and learning materials, and the assessment of foreign language proficiency, which can be officially confirmed via DELF/DALF exams if desired. The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels: A1-C2.

Best Opportunity for Successful Language Learning in New Orleans

For years I've dabbled a bit in foreign languages including French, Italian, and Spanish, but I really wanted to master a forein language so that I could connect with locals when I travel abroad and show my camaraderie. I started at the Alliance before a trip to France and have continued to return to the Alliance as I progress through the French levels with my classmates because the Alliance's structured classroom style and it's holistic approach to language learning (which includes a full program of cultural events) truly promotes success in language acquisition.
